I see a fault code on the charging station — what should I do?
Don't panic — note the code first
Charging stations report every issue with a fault/error code. These codes usually appear on the unit's display, the connected mobile app, or an indicator light on the charging cable. The first step is to note the code (including any letter-number combination) — this significantly shortens diagnosis time once relayed to the field team.
Try the simple checks first
Some fault codes are temporary: the cable not being fully seated, the vehicle's charging port cover not closing properly, or a brief network interruption on the unit. Unplugging and reconnecting the cable, then waiting a few minutes, resolves most minor issues.
If the problem persists, report it to field support
If the code recurs or the unit doesn't respond at all, report it to the station operator (CPO) or the support line listed on it. Professional field teams can combine the fault code with the information reaching the central system via OCPP to perform a remote initial diagnosis, then plan an on-site intervention if needed.
